The Cube Darsena: 250 m² of LED on the water

An unprecedented installation

Our role

Tecnovision developed and built The Cube Darsena, a floating LED wall cube with a viewing surface of over 250 square metres across four sides. A load-bearing structure able to support around 12,000 kilograms of screens was built on a floating platform, designed to be moved with a marine engine. The installation hosted live sports events with Gazzetta dello Sport, open-air cinema with Sky and interactive advertising formats.

The context

The project was created in collaboration with Navigli Lombardi, the body that manages and enhances the waterways of the Navigli area, for Expo 2015 in Milan, and was also confirmed for 2016. Its position in the centre of the Darsena, an area of great footfall and prestige, guaranteed 360-degree visibility. The result was one of the most successful installations in the history of Italian digital out of home.
